A documentary series based on the real life trials and tribulations of two Bulgarian TV hostesses, Lina Vlasova and Elena Dukovna, who were caught up in the so-called ‘Bulgaria Tourist Visa’ scandal.
The two actresses were sentenced to five years in prison in 2013, after the Bulgarian Interior Ministry found out that they had entered the country illegally on tourist visas and had falsified documents.
They were ordered to pay a total of BGN 1.5 million (US$1,200) to Bulgarian authorities.
Lina was released in August 2018, while Elena is currently in jail.
Both actresses were arrested in October 2016 and accused of fraud and illegally entering Bulgaria on tourist passports.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges and remain in jail until their sentencing in October 2018.
The show is based on a true story of two young Bulgarian women who were arrested and jailed for being on holiday illegally in Bulgaria.
